Golden Haze

I've been hoarding disposable cameras since the summer after I graduated from high school. I'd only developed one, though, because I never finish anything. Many of the cameras are half full, some are lost, and one is somewhere in a Los Angeles drugstore, waiting to be picked up.

This summer I've been trying to do a lot of art—a lot of different kinds of art—to independently enrich myself. I tend to get very anxious and overwhelmed in school, and towards the end of the semester/quarter I always stress myself out and procrastinate, but my spring/summer/winter breaks are usually very productive. I've gone through a whole disposable camera (and actually developed it!) in the last two weeks. It was an underwater disposable, though I never got a chance to use it underwater. I took it with me everywhere I went, mostly photographing my neighborhood and houses during after-dinner walks. Out of the 27 exposures, only ten or so turned out remotely interesting. Anyway, here are some of them:

I got into a car accident this summer. This is my mom looking at the demolished remnants of what used to be.

It me

For some reason a bunch of my photos were partially obscured by my finger. I don't even know how this happened.

This is my favorite photo in the set.
